SNAIL Red Leather Coin Purse

Today I decided to make a snail coin purse. I always liked snails and anything with a swirl shape on it. I liked seeing the lines going into one point and coming out unwinding themselves.

The other day, walking around my neighborhood, I saw a snail crossing the road. In a picture taking mood I captured the small creature.
Today I kept thinking of that little snail. When I came into my studio, I found pieces of red leather, which i thought would be perfect for the first snail coin purse. Bright and happy.

Vintage dress into evening clutch

I found this vintage dress at the thrift store in San Diego. That's what it looked like:
The dress itself, obviously can not be worn nowadays, but I really loved the fabric on the top of the dress: beaded and sequined. So, I separated it from the dress:
Here is the choices of the lining: I picked the silk crepe vanilla colored fabric, which also once was a dress.
Sewing the inside pocket, original to the dress:
I made the lining of the bag with double layer of the grosgrain fabric, reinforced with interfacing for holding the shape. Here I am applying the zipper. the beaded fabric had to be sewn by hand on the outside.

And here is the finished bag:
